Have you, by any chance, compiled it as a 16-bit binary? It doesn’t run on Windows 7 ×64, Windows claiming that the binary is incompatible with it.
Cheers.
What Slapo asked. I came to this site, looking for a current dcraw build, and i am puzzled of why the “Windows build” of dcraw 9.16 is an “old” DOS executable.
A PE executable, on the other hand, would not only run on modern x64 Windows but also on old and forgotten systems such as Windows NT or Windows 95.
So, why is an I.T. pro like Pukkita in the year 2012 preferring a DOS executable over a PE executable?
I’m an I.T. pro (systems admin) and a digital photograpy enthusiast, pragmatic and geeky by nature. Since I’ve got a RAW capable camera (first a Powershot G3, then an EOS 10D, now 30D and looking forward a 5D) I’ve been in the quest for the ideal “Digital Darkroom” and workflow for processing my “digital negatives” extracting the max out of the Camera, lenses and software.
